It is really different, and EA marketed this as “another S ims” game. It might have the name, it might have similar features, but it is far from it. Not a Sims Game: This game is not an actual Sims game, contrary to popular belief. You can not customize the way your “home” looks, you can only furnish your home. Even with the expansion pack and the limited edition features, this game still does not have variety. You can’t do a lot customization or activities that you could do in other Sims games. You can choose other ambitions for a different set of quests, though this gets boring pretty quickly. There is a lack of variety to this game. Repetition: Once you complete one kingdom ambition, you have done it all. The Sims Medieval was not intended to support mods or add-ons. Should you download them, you could end up with a virus on your system or a keylogger. You can try to find mods, but they’re not actual mods. Sims Medieval does not have this capability. No Mod Capability: In the prior Sims games (including the current Sims 4, EA has given Simmers the capability of using mods with their game. It’s inaccurate to make this game look like The Sims 3, as the game is nothing like it. Any other information was marketed to be exactly like The Sims 3. Suffice to say, the game was poorly marketed. But in-game, you were very limited in what you could & couldn’t do. Looking at the trailer, it’s easy to see why. Many believed this would be similar, if not, an expansion to The Sims 3. Misleading Marketing: Trailers led people to believe you could build your kingdom from scratch, such as building a castle the same way you build houses in The Sims. Many people were unaware of this expansion unless they searched specifically for expansions for Sims Medieval. Electronic Arts released an expansion for this game, Pirates & Nobles, but it still did not sell well. It was supposed to be a different kind of Sims, but instead, the game flopped. This was supposed to take the Sims to a whole new level. You could “build up” a kingdom, play heroes, and do quests. Sims Medieval was a game released in 2011 by Electronic Arts.
